It will not have as good contrast and color as a fw900 though, especially in LB2 2D zero blur mode. There have not been enough reviews.įrom all I've read, the BenQ XL2411T has effectively zero motion blur like a fw900 crt when sychronized lightboost2 is enabled in 2d gaming (using nvidia card at 100hz&100+fps, or 120hz+120fps). I don't know if this Asus VG248QE has chronic backlight bleed at reasonable brightness settings on every unit or not.
very high brightness can make backlight "flare" out from the edges). Extreme/excessive brightness settings also exacerbate backlight bleeding (i.e. This is a negligible issue to most people on a monitor that is dedicated to gaming.īacklight bleeding on monitors in general varies model to model and and even unit to unit in some cases because monitor housings can be somewhat flexible (most of them being plastic), and end up slightly bent/warped/misaligned, or other slight mfg defects. This is reportedly minimized by the fact that the monitors are 24" rather than 27", at least by comparison. It has a lot of details about the lightboost2 synchronized backlight strobing -> zero blur technology in general as well.Īll of these panels are TNs, so suffer some TN shift/shading which means non-uniform brightness and color due to the TN "shadow" area (top or bottom, or corner(s) depending where you are sitting). It has focused more on the BenQ XL2411T lately since that had been the only one with "zero" blur (and no aftershadow) up until now, but the thread is also starting to have posts about this Asus VG248QE which has the same panel. Just a heads up, you should check the main, much more extensive,ĪSUS/BENQ LightBoost owners!! Zero motion blur setting! Other than that this shit is silky smooth and freaking amazing as hell. There is also somewhere in there where you can add the ICC file. After you do that and restart a few times the colors should be better. To do that go to change the appearance of you display, advanced settings, color management, advanced tab and make sure device profile is set to ASUS VG248QE color profile. You have to manually add the icc file thats on the disk that comes in the box. The colors on the monitor out of the box aren't good. Having problems with Eyefinity breaking everytime I restart though using mini-displayport to Displayport cables.
It might work using an AMD card that has a DVI-D out IDK.
ASUS VG248QE COLOR FIX MANUAL
In the manual it even says to enable 144Hz use DVI-D and a compatible Nvidia GPU. Sometimes it will run for a short while only to crash. I tested out one and 3 monitors and no luck. This monitor will not run 144Hz using displayport. I might have to turn it down a few more notches. Right now everything is set to default on the monitors except brightness is down to 60. I will be posting a video of some BF3 and Black Ops 2 action asap. I could probably get a better camera to take some pics.
